CLASSES & SCHEDULE
All classes are grouped by age, relative belt levels and skill. Dragons classes are 2 days a week, Juniors classes run 6 days a week and Teens and Adults classes are 3 days a week. Description of class types and subjects are located below.

Children & Teen ClassesChildren's classes are structured to meet the needs of all ages, while cultivating individual growth as students advance.
Dragon Class For children ages 4-6. The primary focal points of this class are listening skills, learning to share, self control, coordination, teamwork, balance and building fundamental motor skills. Juniors Class For children ranging from 6-13. These lessons focus on retaining information, self discipline, listening, respect, and increasing strength and flexibility. Juniors classes are organized by belt class, so as students graduate from Dragons they join the White / Yellow / Orange Belt class. Next comes the intermediate Purple / Blue Belt class and then the advanced-intermediate Green / Brown Belt class and then the advanced Red, Red-Black, and Black Belt class. Teen Class For ages 12-16, our older students train in an environment of respect for others and themselves, while learning to deflect peer pressure. They will gain a sense of pride in their accomplishments, increase self esteem and build confidence. They also maximize informational retention, self defense, and physical fitness. |
Focused & Advanced Classes![]() Demo Team
Our Demo team's purpose is to promote and demonstrate the focus, skill, and teamwork of our students. Demo Team members practice and master multiple choreographed performances throughout the year and act as ambassadors for IMAA at events throughout the North Shore. Special Seminars These Special Seminar-Style Saturday classes (SSSS Classes) offer our students a chance to learn material outside of our core curriculum, receive lessons from guest instructors or explore a different style of martial arts; Some classes may also be offered as a way to develop an even deeper understanding of the material in our core curriculum. Seminar topics are vast, as our goal is to satisfy all potential interests. Upcoming seminars will be posted on the Events Calendar, and sign-up sheets will be located at the front desk. |
Adult & Exercise Classes Adult Class
Our adult students, ages 15+, along with material and skill, will learn to use Karate to relieve stress, increase stamina and flexibility, gain focus, improve physical fitness, and condition the heart and lungs. Training in Martial Arts is different than any conventional exercise or sports program, and this class is tailored to individual goals. Tai Chi/ Taiji Our Tai Chi (or Taiji) class promotes serenity through gentle movements connecting mind and body. Learn basic Taiji movements and Qigong postures to help with blood flow, energy, focus, and overall well being. Yoga Our Yoga class focuses on traditional yoga movements and postures. Learn to minimize your stress, stretch, lengthen, & relax your body and focus your mind. Zumba® Classes Zumba® classes mix low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. With Zumba® classes, you get a total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility. Classes taught by a licensed Zumba® instructor. Strong by Zumba™ STRONG by Zumba™ combines high intensity interval training with the science of Synced Music Motivation. Tuition Pricing
Unlike many other Martial Arts schools our tuition is a flat-rate outside of special equipment costs and special events. We do not charge fees for the first uniform, belt advancements, every class over 1 or 2 per week, our special Demo Team classes, or our exclusive TARGET program. In fact our students have a full slate of classes and programs available to them, included in the enrollment cost, which allows them to attend classes up to 4 days a week a no extra cost and we encourage them to come in as often as they can.
Martial Arts lessons are an investment in you. The character, life skills, friendships and memories you build in lessons stay with you forever. The achievement of Black Belt is a huge testament to the discipline, determination and hard work it takes to thrive in life. Whether a star soccer player, tennis champion, NFL football player, college graduate, or kind and productive member of society is the goal, Martial Arts is a great addition to the journey. The physical fitness that Martial Arts calls for is great for health, self-esteem, and cross-training for other sports.
