Blue belt students will begin to focus on sparring techniques as well as learn new techniques in kicking and blocking. The karate form for Blue belt students who tested at IMAA before December 2017 is called Pinan 3. The karate form for Blue belt students who tested at IMAA in or after December 2017 is called Kata 3.
Requirements for advancement
As with all belts, the following list is only a basic requirement for advancement. To be eligible to test you will have to have a deeper knowledge and understanding of all that we cover in class.
Blue Belt
Fitness Stripe 1. 25 Push ups without coming out of a push-up position
2. 600 Jumping Jacks 3. Horse Stance for 1 minute and 50 seconds 4. Front Bridge / Plank for 1 minute |
Form Stripe Demonstrate basic understanding and execution of the Blue belt form, Kata 3
