Blue belt students will begin to focus on sparring techniques as well as learn new techniques in kicking and blocking. The karate form for Blue ​belt students who tested at IMAA before December 2017 is called Pinan 3. The karate form for Blue ​belt students who tested at IMAA  in or after December 2017 is called Kata 3.


Requirements for advancement

As with all belts, the following list is only a basic requirement for advancement. To be eligible to test you will have to have a deeper knowledge and understanding of all that we cover in class. ​​

​1. 25 Push ups without coming out of a push-up position​
2. 600 Jumping Jacks
3. Horse Stance for 1 minute and 50 seconds​​
4. Front Bridge / Plank for 1 minute
